prada s/s 2010

i think i might have a go at those bright orange, glossy lips.. oui?

this has to be in my opinion, one of miu miu's best collections. but of course it still doesn't beat s/s 2008 with the fairy prints and beautifully sculpted heels.

anyway, miuccia prada showed a very summery collection.. featuring quirky beach prints, cropped tailored short jackets, short mini dresses and 50s styled unhemmed shorts. the colours mainly consisted of grey and white. jewel embellished pieces were then shown - inspired by chandeliers.. strung down on beautiful dresses. the shoes were all clear plastic with gigantic chandelier glass dangling on the straps.

i think if people would like to replicate prada's s/s 10 collection, it won't be as easy! the key pieces of the collection were mainly cropped tailored jackets, printed dresses and unhemmed shorts. layering underneath the jackets with a white shirt or wearing shorts underneath a long coat/jacket would be the best idea to incorperate prada elements from this season's collection. also, maybe a hawaiian shirt will do theee trick.

prada made my eyes pop. i might just buy a chandellier and cut all the glass off and sew it on to my shoes...

alexander mcqueen 1969 - 2010

Alexander McQueen wasn't just any other fashion designer. he was a true visionary and a genius; everything of his were so unexpecting, extravagant, shocking and full of creativity. sometimes i wonder if a human being actually designed the unforgettable clothes he created, with the many surprising and uplifting inspirations he was drawn to. i don't think there will ever be another designer who will be on the same level as mcqueen. it just isn't possible. he was a one off talent and a empowering artist who not only produced beautiful clothes, but has inspired thousands and will still influence thousands more. everything was more like art than fashion.. he broke boundaries and loved surprises. so thank you, thank you for creating a new kind of movement in fashion. you will be remembered forever and ever.

RIP Alexander McQueen

why i love sonia rykiel more then so many things.

sasha p.. what are you doing?! (fall 2010)

sonia rykiel 'the queen of knits' has been one of my beloved favourite designers ever since i watched fall 2008's show on youtube when i was around 12.. i was instantly drawn to it all.. you know? the beautiful oversized knit jumper dresses with swirls of pattern, those happy and giddy adorable models with cute smiles and poofy hair, lovely cream white bowler hats (also in black), quirky colour-blocked heeled sandals, stripy patterned tights, the colour palette that just consisted mainly of purple, black and white (sonia's sig, i believe) and don't forget those gorgeous rhinestone embellished dresses at the end of the show, where all the models danced and some which ended up falling over...i can go all day if you like! it was love at first sight..

i really love how all her collections are so full of youth and enthusiasm..all poured into a gigantic bucket mixed together. they all have the oohlala french girl element and the typical grace of parisian chic (voila berets). sonia rykiel knows what women and girls want to wear; she concentrates and mainly focuses on the fabric/material, shape, texture, cutting and all that jazz with so much passion and dedication. (well, the woman was a victim of consumer goods once before.. when there wasn't any soft knits for her 40 years or so ago!) it's the reason why it does so much wonder and that's why her lovely chiffon/silk dresses are the dream of young girls playing dress up with red lipstick all over their faces and those way-too-big heels..

i worship you with all my heart. biggest fan sonia! really! yeah!
